Different Forms of Heart Disease

Unlike in the past, today cardiac disease has become one of the deadliest diseases in the world, affecting millions of people in the world. In the United States alone, more than 60 million people suffer from heart disease. Nevertheless, everyone hopes to live a healthy life, and a long one for that matter.

  1. Angina

Angina occurs when there is little oxygen and nutrients getting into the heart. It occurs when the arteries become too narrow or when muscle spasms occur. Cigarette smoke, cold temperatures, and emotions are major causes of muscle spasms. It is not heart attack and does not lead to heart damage, but causes some minute pain. Atherosclerosis and coronary artery are the major causes of angina.

  1. Heart Attack

The heart muscles can die or get damaged if the blood flow is blocked. However, if the blockage is short, the heart will receive enough oxygen, blood, and nutrients. The damage can be reversed. It is important for heart attack victim to be attended fast.

  1. Arrhythmia

At time, the electric system of the heart doesn’t work well. It may become slow, too fast, skip bears, irregular, and fail to move in the right manner. This makes the heart beat slower or faster than normal. This movement is known as arrhythmias. They can cause different symptoms such as fainting, dizziness, shortness of breath, fatigue, rapid palpitations or chest pain that may feel like pounding of the heart of flutters. The condition can be serious if not treated in time.
